Love is an Ocean

Love is an ocean.

There is an endless well in your chest. Imagine the waters in a cave. There seems to be no source or flow. But deep beneath the surface, there is a current that connects this one pool to its ultimate source, the ocean.

Love is a source. Love IS source.

And like the ocean, there is no depth that can be reached. No end in sight, and the deeper you dive, the more you discover.

This is Love.

It is the holding space for all things. A place we go to, and a place we come from. It is where all things are created and initiated. Love is at the heart of the earth and the core of your being. In your stillness, you can feel this place at your center. This space is where Love resides, and flows, and swirls, and consumes.

The more it is focused upon, the more waves it turns up. And when we allow it and choose it, that Love will work itself up into a beautiful storm and spillover. It will have no boundaries, and no discretion on what it touches or crashes over.

Sometimes Love is reckless like that. Without abandon, it will, as it wills.

Love is wild. Love is free.

But let me ask you this, are you afraid of this kind of Love?

For a lover, sure. But for every being, and nature, and experiences. Are you afraid to be delighted?

Some people are scared of loving completely because they’re terrified of hurting. They think they’re protecting themselves from the fall after the high. When really, they’re afraid of simply feeling the fullness of Love.

Can I handle Love taking me under its waters? Can I handle being tossed by the waves? Can I handle such an act of surrender?

There’s fear there. Fear of the unknown. Fear of feeling out of control. Fear of vulnerability.

But when you feel into it and wholly surrender to the depths… when you let the current take you…you understand that this wild Love will consume, but it will never destroy.

You can handle it, I promise.  Come on in darling, the water’s fine.

xoxo, Jen
